BPYC Camper Information

Below you will find important information for campers. This information includes BPYC Dress Code, what items to bring, and what items not to bring.

BPYC Dress Code

Dress Code is to be followed by all camp participants at all time. Counselors should handle this before and during camp as much as possible.

More information about dress code is listed below. Please take time to review this information as it is very important.

Dress code for morning and evening services are the same.

Dress code note – The BPYC director team realizes that dress code can be a challenging subject and one that is difficult to agree upon. Please understand that the directors have children and youth groups too, and many of us are teachers. We undertand! Our goal is not to decide for you what is appropriate or not, but to try to meet everyone at a place where we can all agree or agree to disagree for a week without too much offense or disagreement about a touchy subject that is not the most important thing. We would like for churches and counselors to handle the dress code with your campers as much as possible. If you have questions or need help with clothes for your youth group, please reach out to us.

Do not wear anything that reveals:
  • Undergarments (this includes bra straps)
  • the trunk (belly, back, etc.) of the body
  • chest (no cleavage)
  • shoulders
  • armpits
  • leg area above the top of the kneecap in front, bend of the leg in back when standing up straight.

The following items are specifically not allowed:

  • Lace, any type of holes, splits, slits, mesh, etc. that reveal undergarments or skin in the prohibited areas
  • Pants, jeans, etc. with holes that reveal skin above the top of the kneecap
  • Form-fitting, tight clothing of any type (including but not limited to yoga pants, skinny jeans, pencil skirts, bike /athletic shorts or capris, leggings of any kind) *Tightness is difficult to measure but will be determined at the discretion of BPYC directors if there are questions.*
  • Leggings along with any shirt, skirt, dress, or shorts that do not meet the kneecap length requirement
  • Crop tops
  • Pajamas worn outside the barracks area

Additional Information to note:

These restrictions are relevant at all times – including Sunday night if arriving early, during checkout on Friday morning, during sports/activities, praise and worship, etc….
